About the miracle of the Transfiguration of Jesus
The Transfiguration of Jesus is an event where Jesus's appearance was changed and he appeared to radiate glory.It is included in the gospels three times, in Matthew 17:1–8, Mark 9:2–8, Luke 9:28–36. It is also referred to in 2 Peter 1:16–18, and some people suggest that John 1:14 also alludes to it.
In the gospel accounts, Jesus, together with and Peter, James, and John, goes up to a mountaintop to pray. While they are there, Jesus begins to shine with bright rays of light, and Moses and Elijah (representing the Law and the Prophets) appear next to him and he speaks with them. A voice, understood by the apostles to be the voice of God the Father, says "this is my son, the beloved."
