Hymns for All Saints Day (1 November)

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary and traditional practices for the Feast of All Saints, years A, B and C.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing.  Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

A small selection of hymns that are still be copyright may also included where they are a particularly good for for the theme(s).



Readings

First:  Apocalypse 7:2-4, 9-14 - I saw people from every race and nation standing in front of the throne.

Psalm: 23 (24) -  Such are the men who seek your face, O Lord / The Lord's is the earth and its fulness

Second: St John 3:1-3 - We are already the children of God, but what we are to be in the future has not yet been revealed

Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12 - The Beatitudes - blessed are the poor in spirit.
