Major music publishers for liturgical churches

A list of major music publishing companies who produce material that is useful for liturgical churches.

These are publishers whose materials tend to be used world-wide, or at least over a number of countries.   Other music publishers is a more comprehensive list of smaller, specialist or nationally focussed publishers.

Decani Music - Publishes its own materials, and is the UK distributor for GIA, Oregon Catholic Press, WLP and Taizé.   Is also a church-copyright-organisation, offering the Calamus licence to liturgical churches in the UK and Ireland.

GIA Publications - originally the Gregorian Institute of America (as in Gregorian chant), now just called GIA.  A very large publication company, with separate music education and sacred (ie religious) music divisions.  Publishes material used in many liturgical churches.

Hope Publishing - a large US company, producing materials used by a range of churches.   Holds rights for The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, Jubilate Hymns, Hymns Ancient and Modern, and the copyrighted hymns published by Stainer & Bell Ltd.

Kevin Mayhew - a large UK publisher, producing some materials specifically for Anglican and Catholic churches, and many general purpose church materials.

Oregon Catholic Press - Originally the Catholic Truth Society.  Renamed in 1984 and now often referred to just as OCP.   They've taken over a number of other companies, including North American Liturgy Resources (NALR) which gave them a huge catalog of music, Pastoral Press and Liturgical Publications of St. Louis. Totally focussed on Catholic material for the US market.

World Library Publications (WPL) - liturgy and music division of J S Paluch, which is a very large US Catholic publisher.  Publishes materials aimed at the Catholic market.
