Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.
A small selection of hymns which are, or may be, still copyright are also included where they are a particularly good for for the theme(s).
Seasonal note
The first Sunday after Easter is the second Sunday in the Easter Season: Easter Sunday itself is the "1st Sunday of Easter".Within the universal church calendar, the 2nd Sunday of Easter is dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion.
In some communities, it is known as "Low Sunday" - and has minimal if any music to give choirs and music directors a break after the demands of the Easter Triduum.
Readings
First: Acts 5:12-16 - The disciples continued to meet, and the number who came to believe in the Lord steadily increased.Psalm: 117 - Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love has no end / Let the sons of Israel say / The stone which the builders rejected / O Lord grant us salvation.
Second: Apocalypse 1:9-13, 17-19 - Jesus appears to John, and tells him to write a book: "I am the first and the last, the living one. I was dead, now I am to live forever".
Gospel: John 20:19-31 - Jesus appears to the disciples after eight days "Peace be with you - as the Father sent me, so I am sending you" - and gives them the power to forgive sins. Thomas was not there the first time, and doubted - but he was there when Jesus came again - and so he believed.
