Hymns, 4th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C

Free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) hymns and song suggestions, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C.

Readings

First: Jeremiah- Before I formed you ... I knew you.   I have appointed you as a prophet.  I am with you.

Psalm: Psalm 70 - My lips will tell of your help / In you O Lord I take refuge / Be a rock / You are my hope

Second: I Corinthians - Love is patient and kind ... faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.

Gospel: Luke - Jesus spoke in the synagogue - a prophet is never accepted in his own country.


Themes:

The role of the prophet - trusting in God.  Self-sacrifice.
