Seasonal noteThe first Sunday after Easter is the second Sunday in the Easter Season: Easter Sunday itself is the "1st Sunday of Easter".
Within the universal church calendar, the 2nd Sunday of Easter is dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion.
In some communities, it is known as "Low Sunday" - and has minimal if any music to give choirs and music directors a break after the demands of the Easter Triduum.
Psalm: 117 - Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love had no end / Let the sons of Israel say / The stone which the builders rejected / O Lord grant us salvation.
Second: Apocalypse - Jesus appears to John, and tells him to write a book: "I am the first and the last, the living one. I was dead, now I am to live forever".
Gospel: John - Jesus appears to the disciples after eight days "Peace be with you - as the Father sent me, so I am sending you" - and gives them the power to forgive sins. Thomas was not there the first time, and doubted - but he was there when Jesus came again - and so he believed.
