Hymns for the second Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A

A selection of free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the 2nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A.

"Free-to-use" means the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing - sometimes in a limited setting.

Many of these hymns are old / traditional - but where possible a variety of styles and genres are included.

Suggestions about hymns that could be included are welcome: leave a comment below, or email editor@LiturgyTools.net

Second: I Corinthians : Paul sends greetings to the church in Corinth ... who are called to take their place among all the saints everywhere ... for [Christ] is their Lord no less than ours.

Gospel: John - John sees Jesus and recognizes that he is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world and says that he saw the Spirit come down on Jesus like a dove when he (John) baptized Jesus.   This is how he knows that Jesus is the Chosen One of God.
