Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.
A small selection of hymns which are, or may be, still copyright are also included where they are a particularly good for for the theme(s).
Seasonal note
When the the Solemnity of St Peter and Paul (29 June) falls on a Sunday, or the bishops in a country choose to observe it on the nearest Sunday, then the readings etc for it is used instead of the Sunday readings.Readings
First: Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24 - God made man imperishable .. in the image of his own nature: it was the devil's envy that brought death into the world.Psalm 29 - I will praise you Lord, you have rescued me / Sing psalms to the Lord you who love him / The Lord listened and had pity.
Second: Corinthians 8:7. 9:13-15 - Remember how generous the Lord was: he was rich, but he became poor for your sake ... it is a question of balancing what happens to be your surplus now against present need.
Gospel: Mark 5:21-43 - Jesus heals the haemorrhaging woman, and raises Jairus' daughter from the dead.
