Hymns for Trinity Sunday, Year A (4 June 2023) - Catholic lectionary

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Trinity Sunday), Year A.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) so the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.  A small selection of hymns which may still be copyright is included, if these are particularly appropriate.

Suggestions about hymns that could be included are welcome: leave a comment below.

Readings

First: Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9 - Moses goes up Mt Sinai as the Lord had commanded, and proclaims God ".. a God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in kindness and faithfulness" - he begs God to be with his people.

Second: II Corinthians 13:11-13 - Be united .. live in peace ... The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.

Gospel: John 3:16-18 - God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten son so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
