Hymns about the wedding at Cana

This is a selection of hymns and songs based on the story of the wedding at Cana, as told in John 2:1-11.  It does not include hymns about topics which could be implied from the story, just ones where one or more verses directly mention this story.

The list is in two sections:

• Free-use (either copyright has expired, or the author has allowed them to be freely used)
• Still subject to copyright and so can only be used if you are covered by a copyright license.

Both children's and adults hymns / songs are included in each list - because except for the youngest of children, it is is difficult to draw a clear distinction between them.

About the Wedding feast at Cana

The wedding at Cana (also knows as the marriage at Cana or marriage feast at Cana) is Jesus first public miracle.   It occurs when Jesus, his mother and his disciples are invited to a wedding where the wine runs out. When Mary notices this, she requests Jesus to assist the hosts..  He does so by instructing the servants to fill gourds with water, which he then turns into wine, despite protesting that "my time has not yet come).

It is not the same as the parable of the great feast / wedding banquet from Luke and Matthew's Gospels.
