This is a list of hymns about people gathering together to pray, which can be used at the start of a church-service.
- Hymns based on the scripture readings of the day
- Hymns for the feast-day or season eg Easter, Pentecost, or a hymn about a saint on their feast-day.
- Hymns based on the Entrance chant from the Mass Propers for the day, or other assigned readings
- General hymns of praise or worship.
But sometimes you won't any hymns
like this, or you don't have the musicians or singers to do them well. Or you may want to invite people to think about what they are doing as they gather to pray.
The list t is in two parts: "Free-use" hymns can be freely used with no concerns about copyright, while others may still be copyright depending on the laws in your country.
