Hymns, 32nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B (10 November 2024) - Catholic lectionary

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the thirty-second Sunday of Ordinary time, Year B.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing.  Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.  A small selection of hymns that are still be copyright may also included where they are a particularly good for for the theme(s).

Readings

First: I Kings 12:1-13 - Elijah asks a widow to make him a meal, and promises that God will provide food for her

Psalm: 145 -  My soul give praise to the Lord / It is the Lord who keeps faith forever ... gives sight to the blind ... upholds the widow and orphan

Second: Hebrews 10:11-14, 18 - Christ has made his appearance once and for all - to take the faults of many on himself

Gospel: Mark 12:38-44  - The widow's mite:  a poor woman contributed her whole livelihood to the treasury, even though it was a small amount compared to others.


Themes

Service, self-sacrifice, bringing what we have.   God's providence.

I use your music suggestions in some form or fashion each week, as of now, all we have to work with in my parish is a Missalette, so your suggestions for music I pair with suggestions from that publisher as well as my own research. Would it be a problem if you were to include the texts of the Entrance and Communion propers along with the scriptural citations for the Liturgy of the Word? Thank you for what you do and the help you give to me and mine.
