Hymns and songs for Yom Hashoah / Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day

A selection of free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) hymns and songs for events associated with Yom Hashoah /Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day.

This observance marks the lives and heroism of Jewish people who died in the Holocaust between 1933 and 1945, and some Christian communities choose to have a service on this day. The day is observed on 27 April in Israel, but in some other countries the date varies from year to year - a chart of US dates is available here.

"Free-to-use" means the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing - sometimes in a limited setting.  Many of these hymns are old / traditional - but where possible a variety of styles and genres are included.
