Hymn suggestions for World War I commemoration services

A selection of free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) hymns and song suggestions suitable for use at services marking the anniversary of significant events in World War One.

"Free-to-use" means the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing - although sometimes in a limited setting.

Many of these hymns are old / traditional - but where possible a variety of styles and genres are included.

Hymns

Abide with Me

All my Hope on God is Founded

And did Those Feet in Ancient Time

I Vow to Thee my Country

It Came Upon the Midnight Clear

Jesus Lives, Thy Terrors Now

Judge Eternal Throned in Splendour

O God of Earth and Altar

O God our Help in Ages Past

Peace Perfect Peace in this Dark World of Sin

Silent Night

Thy Kingdom Come O God

To Mercy, Pity, Peace and Love
