Readings

First: Acts 1:15-17, 20-26 - Peter leads the brothers to choose someone to take the place of Judas as a witness to the resurrection.

Psalm 102 - The Lord has set his sway heaven / My soul give thanks to the Lord / For as the heavens are high above the earth.

Second: I John 5:9-13 - ... And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ... Whoever has the Son has life ... I write these things ... so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Gospel: John 17:6-19 - Jesus prays to the Father for the people who he has been given, knowing that he will soon be returning to the Father and that his people will need protection from the evil one.
