Roman Catholic Mass Planning Template - music planner version

This form is for organizing music for a "more complicated than usual" Roman Catholic Mass for a parish, school or organisation.

Page one includes the basic administrative, theme and pastoral information from the standard version, with a little more space for each.  It also has places to record:
  • the music practice time and place,
  • names of people who might be involved and their status (eg suggested, asked, confirmed).
Page two has the same features as the standard version Mass plannng template, (detailed list of the stages, space to name the specific hymn, reading etc, who it will be done by, the key and other information.

The form is in English, and based on the official (ICEL) English translation of Novus Ordo (the Mass format introduced after Vatican II).  It is not suitable for special events like wedding and funerals, which have additional features.

How to use the template

Save the file (right-click on it, and choose "Save Link as"), or open by clicking it and save or print the file that opens.

The standard-version article has basic information abut using the template (Fill in the background details, fill in the selected hymns etc, choose the people leading each one and the key).

How you use Page One depends on how you like to work - and how much detail you can remember without writing notes.   It may just a check-list of items to be organised - or as a detailed list of team-members and their status (possible, asked, confirmed, unavailable).

If some items on the form do not apply in your situation - just delete them.   This is a list of suggestions and is not prescriptive in any way.

NOTE:  this template can be used with any style of music:  it very deliberately does not hae any assumptions about the theology or approach, apart from the liturgy-structure adopted after Vatican II.
