Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free), so the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing - sometimes in a limited setting. Many of these hymns are old / traditional - but where possible a variety of styles and genres are included.
A small selection of hymns that may still be copyright are also included, if these are particularly relevant.
Suggestions about other free-to-use hymns that could be included are welcome: leave a message in the Comments box near the bottom of the page.
Seasonal suggestion
If this is the last Sunday before Lent starts, you may want to use cheerful music with "alleluias" - to highlight the contrast with next week. Or you may have "pre-Lent" period where music is already more subdued.Readings
First: Ecclesiasticus 27: 4-7 - The orchard where the tree grows is judged on the quality of its fruit.Psalm 91 - It is good to give you thanks O Lord / The just will flourish like the palm-tree / Planted in the house of the Lord.
Second: I Corinthians 15:54-58 - Death is swallowed up in victory - thank God for giving us victory through Jesus Christ.
Gospel: Luke 6:39-45 - Jesus shared short parables about seeing to your own goodness first - a sound tree produces sound fruit - for a man's words flow out of what fills his heart.
