It does not include hymns about other topics which could be implied from the story, just ones which relate directly to it.
The list is grouped into two sections:
- Free-use (either copyright has expired, or the author has allowed them to be freely used)
- Still subject to copyright and so can only be used if you are covered by a copyright license.
Both children's and adults hymns / songs are included in each list - because except for the youngest of children, it is is difficult to draw a clear distinction between them.
About blind Bartimaeus
This story is told in Mark 10: 46-52. It is focussed on faith: the man sees Jesus and cries "Son of David have pity on me". Jesus does not need to touch the name, he simply commands "Go, your faith has healed you". It may refer to the same incident described in Matthew 9:27-31 as Jesus' healing two blind men.Other stories about Jesus healing blind people, which are distinctly different from this one include the
Blind Man of Bethsaida in Mark 8:22-26 and John 9:1-41 - in which Jesus healed a man blind from birth: in these, Jesus saw the man, touched him and healed him without being asked.
