Hymns for the 3rd Sunday of Easter, Year C - Revised Common Lectionary

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Revised Common lectionary for the  3rd Sunday of Easter, Year C.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many of these hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

A small selection of hymns that are still copyright may be included, where they are particularly relevant to the theme.

Suggestions about other free-to-use hymns that could be included are welcome: leave a message in the Comments box near the bottom of the page.

First: Acts 9:1-6 (7-20) - Saul (Paul) experiences God on the road to Damascus, is blinded for 3 days, then his eyes are opened by Ananias acting under the Lord's instructions.  He beings to proclaim Jesus saying "He is the Son of God."

Psalm: 29 (30) -  I will praise you Lord, you have rescued me / Sing psalms to the Lord you who love him / The Lord listened and had pity.

Second: Revelation 5:11-14 - John has a vision of thousand of living creatures saying "The Lamb that was sacrificed is worthy to be given power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and blessing".

Gospel:   John 21:1-19 - Jesus appears to the disciples again - the miraculous catch of fish - "Do you really love me" - If you love me, feed my lambs.

Jesus Christ is the Lord, recognising Jesus.
