Readings
First:Jeremiah 31:27-34 - The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah ... when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. ... I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
OR
Genesis 32:22-31
Jacob wrestles with the mysterious stranger, who renames him "Israel" - Jacob recognises that he has seen God face to face, and yet still lives.
Second: II Timothy 3:14 - 4:5 - Scripture is inspired by God and can therefore be used for teaching people to be holy. Your duty is to proclaim the message - with patience and the intention of teaching.
Gospel: Luke 18:1-8 - Parable of the judge and the persistent widow: God will see justice done to his chosen who cry to him ... but when the Son of Man comes, will he find any on earth?
