Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.
A small selection of hymns that are still subject to copyright may be included, where they are particularly appropriate.
Readings
First: Acts 8:5-8, 14-17 - Philip preached in Samaritan town, and converted many - the apostles sent Peter and John to them and prayed for the Samaritans to receive the Holy Spirit.Psalm: 32 - Cry out with joy to God all the earth / Cry out with joy to God all the earth / Before you all the earth shall bow / He turned the sea into dry land / Come and hear, all who fear God.
Second: I Peter 3:15-18 - Reverence Christ in your hearts .. have your answer ready for those who ask you the reason for your hope ... Christ himself has died for sins - in the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life.
Gospel: John 14:15-21 - I shall ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate ... that spirit of Truth. ... anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me: and anybody who loves me will be loved by my Father.
